Breed Standards
Please refer to this page when considering which studbook you would like your horse registered in.
Here at the FIHB, we realize that petz horses do not have different conformations if they are from the same file, so our breed standards rely completely on color. Find the breed you want to register your horse as, and make sure it fits the color standard before you apply for registration. All various shades of each colors are permitted, as well as whatever textures you wish to use to achieve those colors.
All eye colors are allowed in all breeds, even unnatural colors.
Pura Raza Espanola (PRE)
Accepted colors (taken from the real Spanish PRE Studbook) are as follows:
Grey (including dapple)
White (true white, without pigment)
Black
Bay
Chestnut
Perlino
Cremello
Champagne
Buckskin
Palomino
Grulla
Dun
Rabicano
White markings allowed; all face markings aside from bald, and leg markings that do not extend higher than the bottom of the belly; Example. All forms of dapples are allowed, and birdcatcher spots.
Puro Sangue Lusitano (PSL)
Cannot find any official info except "Grey and Bay are most frequent" and "Any solid color", so this will be from unofficial sources:
Grey (including dapple)
White (true white, without pigment)
Black

Caballo de Deporte Espanol (CDE)
PRE and PSL horses that can not be registered as purebred do to their color (paints, appaloosas), and cross-bred horses with at least one PRE/PSL parent.
If your horse does not fit the color standard of PRE or PSL, it will have half registration as Andalusian or Lusitano, unless it is a cross referred to as a separate breed, then it will be referred to as that breed (ie Hispano-Arabe);
All colors and patterns are accepted.
Hispano-Árabe (HÁ)
PRE/PSL/CDE x Arabian cross.
Hispano-Árabes are most common in bay, grey, and chestnut; however with the abundance of pintabian and araloosa Arabians at SS, all colors and markings will be permitted, to allow a wider variety of breeding options.
Azteca (AZ)
PRE/PSL/CDE x Stock Horse crosses
Azteca horses are crosses between a PRE and a Quarter Horse. The AQHA recognizes 17 colors, however with the diversity of the stock horses found at SS (Quarter Horses, Paints, Appaloosas), all colors and patterns are registerable including pintos and appaloosa spotted horses. We will also allow PSL crosses as well as PRE.
Warlander (WA)
PRE/PSL x Friesian crosses
As taken from the breed standard (source), all solid colors are permitted, no pinto, appaloosa spotting, or roaning allowed.
White markings allowed; all face markings aside from bald, and leg markings that do not extend higher than the bottom of the belly; Example. All forms of dapples are allowed, and birdcatcher spots.
