SPAIN
I was on dreamhorse recently looking at local horses for sale because I like torturing myself and I found a very cute, very green broke, very four year old, very bay PRE mare for very cheap and.......... and basically that is my dream for when I decide to become a horse owner again. So I of course couldn't stop thinking about her, and took to drawing her whenever my mind was idle and I had scraps of paper in front of me, including drawing little hearts with her name inside kinda like how middle schoolers do when they have crushes............and then Celestia PMed me about possibly commissioning me to make a mod for her. I've found that I can't really hex for other people if my heart's not in it, so I asked what kinda mod she was looking for.
A PRE.
OF COURSE I'LL DO A PRE!
So I quickly got to work and over the course of the last few days crafted a pretty ok PRE that turned into something really lovely thanks to Cel's suggestions and redlining! Just for fun, here's the evolution of this file:
Until, finally, this!:
I really like how this file turned out in the end. I can say it's easily my best mod to date, and has kinda set a new standard for modding for me! It has me really excited about eventually doing a new Lusi and Westfalen for Matador & Merge. <3 And of course, really excited about getting more into PREs! The thinness slider doesn't give button braids for this file since Iberians aren't typically shown in button braids, but it shortens the mane and does a good job of revealing the neck. I actually included gender variations too! Mares are smaller, with smaller chests and thinner necks.
I'm sending this out to Cel soon (and REJECTING ANY DONATIONS YOU SEND ME) and--like I said--I'm very fond of it myself, so expect to see some more PREs for adoption, sale, auction, as prizes for shows! etc.
Beginning with Three Peaks' Milburga! Mil is a palomino tobiano Oldenburg mare, and she's SUCH a tempermental little thing! When I first started working with horses in real life, mean, dominant mares freaked me out, but I very quickly learned that they're the types that will really try for you once they decide they like you! I'm hoping Mil will be the same way. I love mean mares more than anything. <33333
Yes, I won Moonmist Orchid! Orchid is a gorgeous black tobiano Holsteiner mare, off of Dav's lovely lovely lovely Holsteiner mod. I love this little mare! She's as sweet as can be (I love sweet mares too ;D). She's champed in-hand and has started jumping recently. When I FINALLY get my ish together to start eventing with my horses, she'll probably be first up.
Okay, this boy doesn't drool at all. I won yet another Moonmist raffle (I'm not letting myself enter another u___u), this time for a chestnut PRE stallion! Dav's hexpainting is to die for, and I loooove that she has this really unique modding style that is at once super cute and super regal and beautiful and adorable and wow??? I love. I need to find a name for this boy and get him in the ring. Something Spanish, for sure, but...?
MOONMIST ALTERO. Moonmist horses are taking over my stables! With good reason! You guys might recall that Dav's Romero recently had a rendezvous with Kat's Alteza Pardal and produced three gorgeous foals. I'm typically a mare person (how many times can I say I love mares in one post...?) but in this case I was THRILLED to receive the colt! His bloodlines are super valuable to me (Alteza's lineage goes back to my original line of Lusitanos at the old, old, old SS, and Romero is one of those horses I sometimes wonder if I should've kept!), not to mention his dashing good looks and sweet temperament. He's definitely what Matador looks for in a stallion. <3
If this boy looks familiar to you, it might be because he's the winning horse from my hexing contest! This boy, hexpainted by Ava and formerly known as Werther, is now CV I'm In Love, or Alex! Alex does what he wants. He's GOOFY, like... the biggest dweeb ever, possibly. I expected the winning stallion to be ahhh, beautiful, noble, stately... and instead I ended up with this (still beautiful!) doofus who absolutely refused to put down his jolly ball for a decent photo. Oh well. Alex is curious, mischeivious, and goodness, dominant. He doesn't really pick fights so much, but he seems to have this charisma about him that causes other horses to just follow him around.
And this gorgeous grey is Moonmist Kiss Me, or Whirly! When I held my hexing contest, I planned to only get ONE stallion... but the day I judged, I found myself feeling weak, and I couldn't resist trying to buy Whirly as well. Whirly is MUCH more serious than Alex, and will probably be easier to train and show. He's more reserved, more cautious, and I'm torn about their friendship! On one hand, it's adorable, and I know Alex's adventurous spirit will help Whirly gain some confidence... and on the other, Alex is inevitably teaching Whirly how to pick locks, start fires, and beat up foals for lunch money. What to do?
And some bonus photos, because the last 3 boys were all in a PetzA profile together for a bit:
Alex and Whirly meet........
Which quickly leads to Alex playing therapist while Whirly howls his troubles.
They have SUCH a funny friendship. This is the most intense bromance I've ever had in my game.
Alex meets Altero... which led to an angry Alex and terrified Altero!
But the Moonmist boys stick together!
