Hey guys, I'm just curious to know how you go about creating mods. Personally, I always do things in what I believe may be the single most tedious way possible - I color each ball separately with random colors so I can tell them apart in LNZ Pro, then use it to make tiny adjustments at a time, bringing the horse out of the AC and just basically doing trial and error until I'm satisfied. I'm curious to know if there are other, more reasonable methods of V2 modding.
I colour all the ballz different colours on the PW dummy version of the file and use that to move the ballz around making final adjustments using Liz as I find it easier to visualise the mod and quicker
I have a PW dummy colored and saved as "PW Dummy-Modding" and then I copy that and use it for each mod I do, saving a PW dummy for each mod, that way if something happens to the file I'll still have the mod. I do use LNZ for smaller modding though, like moving a ball up a few pixels or something like that.
So question then! When you guys mod on the PW Dummy, what section of the Addballz do you move over to a non-PW file? I know that to make it a dummy file a few things had to be changed and wasn't sure if the Addballz or part of it was one of them.
I would love to start modding at some point - got a three week trip to Chicago coming up and have so much time for activities haha.

I get a base done in PW, I used to recolor individual balls to mod but at this point I've got a stupid amount of knowledge about how these ponies are made up I don't really need to anymore. Though occaisonally if I'm doing some heavy face re-working I'll need to recolor.
Once I get a base down, I use LNZ to finesse. I also copy over the entire addballz section, you just need to be careful to not delete the ;junk section of the full V2.
Also, if you move any base ballz (usually for me thats the chest, head and neck) you'll need to move them in Move section.
I mod pretty much exclusively in LNZ, the same way you do, Anom. Depending on what I'm working on, I'll open it up in PW (the actual file, not a dummy) and use it to omit things like head ballz, mane ballz, etc (I tend to get rid of the head, mane, and/or neck depending on what I'm working on). I depend way too much on the Move section to mod from PW, and tbh hexing from PW is even more fiddly than LNZ once you start trying to make a smooth, cohesive looking horse.
I'm way more comfortable with LNZ than PW at this point. You can probably tell by the way I hexpaint, haha.
