Reconnected with distant family and bonded pretty fast! The rest of my family isn't very supportive but they're more black sheep like me. They sent me home with multiple bags of groceries because they found out how bad I've been struggling. Literally almost cried from happiness.
I got offered a position at a vet clinic as a receptionist and will start next week! The clinic is a little farther than I'd like, there's my town, another town, and then the town with the clinic. It takes about 25-30 minutes to drive from my house to it. However, they are opening another location in the next town over which would cut the distance in half and they'll need receptionists there, so it's possible I'd be able to mainly be in that town instead.
BUT I had a job interview yesterday for a job I REALLY want (finance assistant) and I think I did ok in the interview (despite having no time to prepare and helping deliver puppies hours before). They seemed to like me but I won't know anything for "1-2 weeks" or maybe longer... And I think if they offer it, I'll take it, and then feel bad for stringing the vet clinic along a little... But maybe I'll start at the vet's and love it and not want to leave? We'll see haha
YAY I got offered the other job too (they fast-tracked the process a bit) and I think I'll take it. It's part-time but it's got some benefits and the pay per hour is higher. It's also going to look great on my resume in the future and directly applies to both of my degrees. And even though they're closed down right now, and everyone is working from home, and there isn't that much work to do, they're still paying the full hours of the position so even if you only work 18 hours you still get paid for the full 40 (or whatever it is) that is in your position description, so that's nice.
Good timing too! The vet clinic wanted me to start tomorrow, so now I can let them know I won't be, without feeling like I wasted their time and money by starting, training for a bit, and then leaving.
That turned out great, Jewellz1 Good luck with this new job and I hope this will be awesome experience and it sounds like long-time benefit.
As we have this whole covid-19 quarantine in our country, we all should stay away from others, keep social distance, I was long time at home. Usually I do a lot of things - dog trainings, walks, work, academic classes, but now I just felt bored and I was getting too much energy. Just like my dog, because he's high-energetic breed and training at home and short walks aren't enough. So I went to day to see sunrise on the beach, that was small trip - like hour to our destination, then 7km walk on empty beach (no one was there this early) and that was first time, when I went somewhere to actually see sunset, like on purpose. That was beatiful, sky was clear, weather was perfect and we get there right on time! Now me and Greg are much calmer, that was surely great for our mental state. XD
