So for the last 15+ years, I've had to wear contacts and glasses due to really bad myopia and astigmatism. I had been thinking about LASIK for years but always thought it was too expensive and was afraid my eyeballs would explode or something due to the creation of a "flap" they have to make during the surgery to fix my vision.
WELL. After finally get sick of all the bullshit of having my prescription messed up ONE TOO MANY TIMES, I finally went and got a consultation for the surgery. APPARENTLY it's so ridiculously easy and safe these days that out of the 30,000 surgeries this doctor has done, only two people had problems and that was because they got into fights just days after the surgery. He said my eyes are good for ALL THE THINGS, and despite my heavy prescription, I'll have 20/20 vision or better after the surgery. They also have a great monthly payment plan that will actually enable me to pay for all this.
I AM SO EXCITED YOU GUYS. My eyes are so bad I can't even see when I get up in the morning without my glasses - this screen is only a few feet away and I can't even see it. Best part is after the surgery, it only takes a day or two for my eyes to stabilize so I will be glasses free in just hours afterward!
^It's actually a really simple procedure - 40 seconds per eye haha. I'm actually there longer for pre and post op care than the actual surgery itself and you don't even have to go under. I've watched a number of videos of the surgery itself and I was like "...What? THAT'S IT?"
Best part is, it's good for yearsss and if I need touch up, that's covered in the plan they offer so WOOOOO.
I'm getting a new car! Some of you may remember me saying something about my current car, which does not have any heat in it, and I live in the U.P. of Michigan. So it gets very cold during the Fall and seemingly endless Winter months. I paid $5,000 for it three, almost four years and it already had a lot wrong with it when I bought it. The heat lasted for about a year then kicked the bucket, I haven't had heat in my car for 2 winters and this would've been my third. Plus the sunroof- which was a point they sold me on- never worked. The tires have all had to be replaced at least once, both front tires twice now. Tires are expensive and it's really irritating spending over $100 for new tires for the rims to cause them leak/go flat or burst. The window doesn't work in the back, it's super glued and taped shut, the traction control/abs doesn't work, the right turn signal is gone, my plastic bumper split and flew off so there's a chunk of the front of my car. ENDLESS problems. Well I was going to save up another $5,000 and buy my friend's car but that meant another winter without heat. It's also not just the fact that there wasn't heat to keep me warm, it was more the fact that I needed to de-ice the INSIDE of my windshield, squeegee it off, then drive with my windows down so I could see and my windshield wouldn't fog up. I filled out a credit app for Rose City Motors since they have commercials about getting you into a car regardless of credit and I was approved. I only have to pay $400 down, trade in my car(which if they are giving me less than a $500 credit for it I am going to see if I can just sell it to my cousin and have the extra $500 for a down payment) and I only need to pay $280 a month. Which considering my terrible credit score isn't as bad as I had anticipated. I'm getting a 2006 maroon Mercury Montego. We're still working out details but I should have it before it gets too cold. I don't even remember what it feels like to be warm in the winter lol, or have my car heated up and get into a nice warm car lol.
Google pictures below to see a gist of what the car should look like. I'll be getting pictures of the actual car emailed to me soon.
The Montego had transmission problems so now I'm getting a 2007 Buick Rendezvous I'm kinda excited to drive a SUV around. Leather interior and wood trim. It looks gorgeous, also it gets better gas mileage than my Grand Prix lol. Another plus is that full coverage isn't even as much as I had anticipated and it's only going to be about $20 more than what I'm paying now for comprehensive. I currently pay 95 and it will be 117. I should have my new car by Saturday, Monday at the latest. I'll post pics you guys probs don't care, but I'm so stoked that I need to share with everyone lol

Just got back from seeing Heart Like a Hand Grenade, a documentary about the making of Green Day's album American idiot, and I'm so happy right now. Since I got into the band I've been waiting for this documentary to be released and it's so surreal to have finally seen it.

^Green Day has been my favorite band since I was 13. I'm 24 now xD My best friend (haybenny on here!) got me tickets to see them for the first time for my birthday four years ago and I cried when she gave them to me, and again through most of the concert xD
Also, same bestfriend is coming to visit me tomorrow and take fancy pictures of me and my cow pony, seeing her always makes me smile
Surgery was a success! I went in yesterday and after getting prepped and given a Xanax (lol yep.) they took me and lazered me eyeballs up something good. It wasn't too bad pain wise actually coming out of the surgery, since it was just out patient, but jesus christ the ride home was agony. The numbing drops had worn off, the sleeping pill my MIL gave me didn't work at all and I couldn't open my eyes even a crack without them burning, tearing up and basically trying to murder me for even thinking about doing that. It took four extra strength Exedrin to get me to sleep around 9 pm, then I woke up every few hours to put in drops, get some water and then pass out again haha.
BUT MY GOD. MY GOD I CAN SEE. Like even when I woke up this morning, I COULD SEE MY CLOCK. And my vision was so bad before I couldn't even see that side of the room, much less the clock numbers. I went in for my 1 day post op and they said everything looked great - though I do have some burst blood vessels in my eyes from the suction they had to do during surgery, so it looks like I was in a fight and lost lol. I have to wear goggles to bed for a week so I don't mess up the flap as it heels, and sunglasses outside BUT I AM SITTING HERE TYPING WITHOUT GLASSES AND IT IS THE MOST GLORIOUS THING IN MY LIFE.
I can see so much better now than I ever did with contacts and glasses. I'm still sorta in shock lol. And barely any pain! I just get twinges every so often, but that seems to be less and less as I keep up with my medicated drops. Ugh this is so amazing, I'M GONNA HEX SO MANY THINGS NOW O:
Neco, how did you cope with having your eyes open while they were lasering them? That's like my biggest fear, I would love to get lasik and be able to get rid of my glasses/not have to deal with contacts, but it scares the living hell out of me lol.
so this isn't spam.
I'm getting to work on my secret santa/holiday horses I should've been cranking these out earlier, but ya know I'm lazy and been working a lot so now it's the weekend I'm doing it. ALSO Textures are great, especially shading/highlighting with internal textures ♥
ALSO ALSO, I've made two payments on my car, and since my first payment my credit score went up 32 points HOW EXCITING! I should be able to afford to do a secured credit card with my next paycheck and just do a 200 credit and help increase my score that way.
