After 8 years of dedicating my life to riding, I have finally been blessed with a horse of my own c: This is Reno, who I will be showing under the name Rendezvous. He is 6 years old (born February 2009), about 16.3 hands high, and a Thoroughbred (ex-racehorse). Today, I'm going to check his lip for a racing tattoo and see if I can track down his records/what name he raced under. I truly adore him, and he has been a joy to work with so far! He is still pretty green under saddle, but making progress, so hopefully we'll be able to show by next season. Out of all the horses I've worked with he comes out on top as being so extremely calm and eager to learn new things. If you have any tips on working with a green horse, I'd love to hear them! Also, I have to say, he has the longest forelock and thickest tail of any Thoroughbred I've ever met! He is just my gorgeous boy <3 I don't have many pictures, but I've posted the ones I do have below (: I'll be updating this thread on our progress together!
Grazing day #1 of being at the new barn (he only has a chain because we wanted to be on the safe side - he didn't bat an eye at anything!).
Our first ride together as horse and owner! <3 Ignore my overly long stirrups xD
After many tries, I succeeded at getting him in the "terrifying" crossties.... treats are an amazing thing! xP
palecat5 Those are bell boots (: They help protect his hooves because he is a clutz! xD
Neco I found out that he raced under the name "Sulleyman Time" (oh, racing names... xP) and his pedigree is here: www.pedigreequery.com/sulleyman+time His race record also says he won one race and placed third in another out of eight starts! Not bad, but he's definitely doing better as a hunter pony c;
