So there are a ton of great mods, and even the original v2s are nice, but none of them are exactly what I want. So instead of asking someone to tweak their mod to my tastes (I wouldn't! lol) I figured I'd try to do a mod myself. And, I'm fairly sure it's frowned upon to mod off someone else's mod but there don't seem to be any formal rules so I'm just asking, is it not a good idea, or do people not care? I'm already based off the Friesian so don't freak out that I'm mutilating someone's mod please! I'm not sure what breed I want to do, I kinda figured I'd make my mod to my liking and then figure out a breed that works for it? Probably not a good idea though lol. Anyway, my ideal horse that lives in my head is big, well-muscled yet lean (does this make sense?) with a longer head, and a nice longer/fuller mane, a definite showy/dressage horse. I love the upright/curvy necks. It could be Iberian or Warmblood, I don't know. I actually like Morgans too, not the showy weird ones, real Morgans, but I don't think they'll work for what I already have done, I could start over though...
Anyway, I have have mostly got the body that I want but now I need to work on the head/neck/mane. But I'm not sure where to start, and I'm scared to actually move anything. I'm cool with resizing stuff but moving balls freaks me out because I don't really know how. I've already moved some body stuff but I'm not even sure I'm doing it right...
For example, move section:
;hands
13, -10, -30, -20, 48
37, 12, -35, -20, 48
If I want to move the hands towards the front of the horse I would make the -20s something like -24? And does this move all addballs that may be based on balls 13 and 37 as well? (I'm pretty sure it does but just making sure because I've never messed with move section.)
But addballs, which I'm more comfortable moving...
;Right Front Hoof (yeah, alot =D) 154-164
333, -6, 0, -13, 39, -1, -1, 0, -1, -1, -99, 0, 0, 1
333, 1, 0, -14, 39, -1, -1, 0, -1, -1, -99, 0, 0, 1
I see a lot of the -99s in ball size, what does that mean? The smallest it gets, or non-existent, or what?
Also, I'm completely clueless on the entirety of the [project ball] section. Is that something I will need to mess with at all if I start moving neck/ears/face stuff? What about eyes? If I move the eyes will I mess them up?
Any tips/tricks or advice would be great. So far I've done all of it in LNZ but is there some way to make PW work for the actual file and not a dummy? And is it possible to transfer a forelock or entire mane from one file to another, because I really don't wanna make my own? Like can I put the regular v2 forelock onto a Friesian? Is it even a new forelock or is it just sized different? If you can do that, how would you recommend I try that, just copy ;forelock addballs over, or are there more things to worry about?
Omg so many questions but, will I need to mess with linez at all? I'm about as fine with lines as addballs but I'd like to know what to be prepared for.
Annnd one more I just thought of, what do I need to worry about as far as legs go? Lets say I move them forward or back but keep the sizing/structure, do I need to then worry that it won't be able to be level for posing? What all would affect the levelness?
I'd post as picture but it still mostly looks like a Friesian right now, just a tiny bit leaner and longer.
