Dream Gazer is absolutely full of energy, he's certainly got spirit! He also has a gentle side though and gets along well with all of my other horses so far. The other foals seem to look up to him.
Though his training started out rough with a lot of fight to him which is normal for a foal his age, I haven't ran into any major misbehavior during training with him. He certainly seems 'Experienced' when it comes to working with him. He has that attitude 'Been there, done that'.
Dream Gazer does have his quirks though! He likes to flehmen, mmmm what's that smell? And he's already seeming a bit 'Herd Sour' where he wants to stay with the group. We're hoping he grows out of that, it is certainly something we'll be working on.
He spooks at Blankets, at this age it's to be expected. Hopefully we'll be able to get him desensitized to them soon as he'll have to deal with them a lot! I would hate his fear of blankets to get in the way of his Racing Career.
He seems to be second in command when it comes to herd mentality, always plotting to take over the role of the leader. In fact, he already has with the other foals!
Luckily, he does seem to have respect for people and anyone who is handling him. Even when he was putting up a fight that first time we put the halter on, he was careful not to hurt us. That's always nice to see.
Dream Gazer absolutely loves kids! If he could talk, this is what he'd say; "Oh I love kids, they are so itzy bitzy cute little people"
His favorite treat... is Beer. Yeah, we had some relatives over that snuck him some. Great, just what we need. Hopefully he acquires other tastes as he gets older!
A quote that seems to fit him well is; "You spend the first 2 years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next 16 telling them to sit down and shut-up." Author Unknown
Dream Gazer is wonderful to have around and I have so much fun watching and working with him! My favorite thing about him is how he's like a big brother to the other foals. He really takes them under his wing in such a gentle manner.
