Race Replay
Last week we saw Rio-bound SeaBlue Royalty run down her opposition to take her place among the elite of her class and come within a second of the stakes record. On a sunny Chicago day, her competition returns as these 12 fillies and mares stride to the gate for their third shot at Breeders' Cup glory. Turn & Burn's Rozlyn takes favoritism this week off several good showings her prior outings, followed closely behind by Shashka's Antebellum, another Rio-bound filly with a good turn of foot. Rhapsody's Charisma and Honestly aren't far behind with both classic-placed fillies looking to improve on their prior prep efforts, with Burning Acres' Armin making her 2016 BC debut looking for a score, while stablemate Ziva returns off a pair of subpar efforts from Rio. BlueJay comes back with stalwart Lightning, a hard knocking mare that won multiple stakes on the lead; Black Water returns with Dance o War, another speedy filly that flashes good speed while Palecat's Wind returns for the second year in a row to get a piece. Rounding out the field are Nightshade's trio of Penny, Katria and Fairy, the three of which are taking a big class jump to try their hand at the BC. These 12 fillies and mares are the top of their class and even without an Classic winning filly, it's a race as tough as they come as they take to the track and enter the gate for this year's Lady's Secret!
