Race Replay
Two weeks ago, the road to the Lillies began with a thunderclap as Hard Tack's Elysium roared to the wire first in the Silverbulletday, leading her stable to the lead once again as make our way to that first Friday in May for the Kentucky Oaks!
Despite Ely's last two victories, it'll once again be Illicit to lead the show parade as the heavy favorite, with stablemate Lark hot on her heels based on her close finish last out. Elysium clocks in third choice after two sensational performances last out, with stablemate Noble Hierarch right there with her, with the public still showing some faith in the daughter of Barbaro despite her subpar performance. Djinn, half-sister to Elysium, is getting some play as well after several good efforts and she seems primed for a rematch after last out's close call. Fairy, Katrina and Rhapsody will all spike to double digits after their out of the money perfomances in the Silverbulletday, but each filly has shown talent at the appropriate level. Penny will round out the field as the longest shot of all, but she's still looking to make some noise as the Nightshade and Riverside stables continue their foray into Tiara territory.
Darkness is spreading over the Appalachians here on the East Coast, but the wind is about to give these fillies a run for their money as it picks up with the setting sun. Our nine familiar faces are taking to the track once again as they line up for those crucial Oaks points in this year's Davona Dale Stakes!
The Road to the Oaks continues NOW on Seeing Stars!
