Two weeks ago, we kicked off the road to the British Classics with a bang, as Mokuso outlasted heavily-favored Yokai to the wire to win the Craven Stakes in record time! Today, both colts are back for more and it's a highly anticipated rubber match to the finish as these two colts face off against five other opponents in this year's Prix La Force!
Once again ghostly Yokai is the favorite, and after missing just by a nose last out, he'll be taking dead aim at any pacesetters that try to stand in his way of a coveted French victory. Illusion will be hot on his heels however, with the grey colt tearing his way through the graded stakes ranks to earn himself a top spot on the British Triple Crown trail. Mokuso will have his hooves full if he's going to keep Yokai at bay again, as stablemate War Axe will look to build on his recent allowance victory to pad out an already impressive resume. Bandit will have to improve to make a dent on this field after a fourth and fifth in his last two races, while the speedy and ever handsome Rash will need to show some sharp speed right out of the gate to outgun Mokuso for that coveted lead. Checkers will round out the field in double digits and while the late-running overo has shown some ability, he's left many punters scratching their heads on what kind of talent he actually has.
It's a bright and brassy day but storm clouds loom to the west, and it'll be a race against time itself before the skies open up and drench our turf to the root.
The Road to the Classics continues NOW on Seeing Stars!
