- Up to 3 entries per person, 14 horses total.
- A horse must have competed in at least one trial this year before entering a Classic race.
The 2000 Guineas Stakes is run on the Rowley Mile at Newmarket over a distance of 1 mile (8F) and is scheduled to take place each year in late April or early May. It is one of Britain's five Classic races, and it is the first to be run in the year. It serves as the opening leg of the Triple Crown, followed by the Derby and the St Leger, although the feat of winning all three has been rarely attempted in recent decades.
All fillies will carry 123 lbs
All colts will carry 126 lbs

Today, seven colts and fillies will load into the gate at Newmarket. The winner of this race will take the first Classic of the year and first leg of the English Triple Crown, but the next leg, the Epsom Derby, runs at a significantly longer distance of 12F.
Many colts and fillies don't even attempt all three legs of the Triple Crown or Fillies' Triple Crown anymore, because the step up in distance is just too much. However, winning just one of the five Classics means the horse is truly remarkable among its peers.
Hard Tack's General Disarray is narrowly the favorite after his very recent win in the Sandown Classic Trial. Close behind is Turn & Burn's only entry, the gutsy come-from-behind filly, Sagittarius. This filly won the first trial of the year and has been well-rested since. Next is Hard Tack's Noble Hierarch, another filly who likes to take them by surprise. While Rhapsody's War Hero is the only horse to have won more than one trial race so far this year, bettors seem to have a little less confidence in him in this field of the best of the best, he's fourth down the list. Regal and Method have a bit longer odds. While Method surprised everyone in the Blue Riband Trial, bettors seem skeptical he could pull something like that off again. The longest shot today is the well-bred London Bridge, who just doesn't seem to be having the greatest of seasons so far.
It's time to find out which talented colt or filly will bring home the first Classic win in 2019!
