- Up to 3 entries per person, 14 horses total.
- A horse must have competed in at least one trial this year before entering a Classic race.
The 1000 Guineas Stakes is run on the Rowley Mile at Newmarket over a distance of 1 mile (8F) and is scheduled to take place each year in late April or early May on the Sunday following the 2000 Guineas Stakes. It is the second of Britain's five Classic races, and the first of two restricted to fillies. It can also serve as the opening leg of the Fillies' Triple Crown, followed by the Oaks and the St Leger, but the feat of winning all three is rarely attempted.
All fillies will carry 123 lbs
This race is restricted! If the filly is not listed below, it may not enter!

Today, seven fillies will load into the gate at Newmarket. The winner of this race will take the second Classic of the year and first leg of the Fillies' Triple Crown, but the next leg, the Epsom Oaks, runs at a significantly longer distance of 12F.
Many fillies don't even attempt all three legs of the Fillies' Triple Crown anymore, because the step up in distance is just too much. However, winning just one of the five Classics marks the horse as exceptional amongst its peers.
Turn & Burn's Sagittarius is narrowly the favorite after her win in the Fred Darling and nice, long rest since. Very close behind are two fillies that have butted heads a time or two in the trials and preps for both the Kentucky Oaks and the British Classics. Rhapsody's Djinn is a talented daughter of Ruffian that has been overshadowed by her half-sister on the path for the Kentucky Oaks. Hard Tack's Noble Hierarch has also been a bit outshone by her half-sister on the Oaks trail. Nonetheless, these two seem to have found the turf across the pond a little more to their liking - both have had some impressive moments in Britain and France this year.
Rhapsody's other two fillies aren't too far behind in the odds today. Regal has a reputation of giving it her all and despite no recent wins, she has a loyal fan base. Purity has proven she's got stamina to go the distance, but this race is all about speed - she will need a quick turn of foot to keep up. Hard Tack's other two fillies, Chiricahua and Messalina, sport longer odds. Despite having nice pedigrees, these two just aren't as experienced as some of the seasoned fillies we have here today.
It's time to find out which talented filly will take down the second Classic and first leg of the 2019 Fillies' Triple Crown!
