Race Replay
Last week, Dubai World Cup winner Delirium made a serious case for year end honors as the black colt ran down 2018 Triple Crown winner Pagan in a slam dunk to earn his spot in the Breeders' Cup Classic.
Pagan will look to turn his luck around this year and the Triple Crown winner is on the upswing, losing by only a length after weakening in the final strides last week. 2019 Preakness winner Damask is also on the improve after a few rusty races following his classic win, and the late running grey colt is only one of two off the pace horses in a field of speedballs. Elysium will look to add even more speed to an already loaded race and after faltering last week, she's out for revenge as no Oaks winner yet has won a Breeders' Cup race. Tipsy is right there with her and looks for her first win in over a year, after a long layoff of the first half of 2019 saw the mare return in this year's Breeders' Cup leadup. 2018 Triple Tiara winner Heretic Queen is the third speed horse of the race, and is something of a mystery this season, failing so far to reproduce her 2018 form. Baldur is the longest shot of all, but not by much, after scoring second in last week's Secretariat and losing by less than a length to Delirium after nearly clipping heels in the race early on.
It's a beautiful day for a horse race with the sun shining after morning thunderstorms, and the track is lightning fast as these six colts fillies take to the track for that second coveted spot for this year's Breeders' Cup Classic.
The Road to the Breeders' Cup continues NOW on SS!
