Race Replay
Last week's Lady's Secret, Heretic Queen left her rivals in the dust as the 2018 Triple Tiara winner flashed her immense talent to score a front running victory. With only one more free spot available in the Distaff, it's no holds barred as these final six fillies battle it out to the wire.
Hard Tack's 2019 Triple Tiara winner Elysium is top choice this time round and the lightning fast filly will try to use the speed that won her the Tiara to earn BC orchids. Kentucky Derby winner Illicit is sure to be hot on her heels, as the rivalry that built all spring has not shown signs of cooling in our Breeders' Cup leadup. 2017 Triple Tiara winner Songbird will be accompanying Elysium on the front end as she fights to get her campaign back on track after several head scratching finishes. Graded stakes winner and flashiest filly on the field Lark has shown sharp finishes in her recent races and good form, but may have to put on her running shoes to catch this field. Belmont Stakes and Epsom Oaks winner Noble Hierarch is cutting way back in distance, but the dead closer will have plenty of speed on the front end to give her a way to the winner's circle. Acrimony is the longest shot of all and while no slouch by any means, she hasn't shown the pizzaz needed to keep up with the big girls.
There's a heat wave mugging the East Coast this weekend but that hasn't stopped our fillies from shining like diamonds as they head to the main track for the final time. With only one more spot left for the Breeders' Cup Distaff, it'll be a slugfest to the wire for that final free trip in the 2019 Go For Wand!
