Race Replay
In last week's Dahlia Stakes, Candore ground his way to victory with an inside trip to just hold off stablemate Accendere for the win. With only one more free spot available in the Turf, it's no holds barred as these final six colts and fillies battle it out to the wire.
Hard Tack's Dracarys will lead the way as he makes his first appearance in the Breeders' Cup, with the distance specialist cutting back from his preferred marathon to try a shorter route of ground. Archrival Warpaint will be right there with him, ready to renew their rivalry that last year saw them trading blows all the way to the Christmas season without stopping. Front running Vixin will join them in the betting and will look to keep her speed going farther than it did last week, after folding late in the race. Carthage comes in hot of his first Grade II victory and will try to improve his Breeders' Cup standing, while Accendere will look to motor her way to the front and stay there to avenge last week's second best finish. Dyllinger is the longest shot on the board and after a solid third last out, he shows all signs of an upswing coming into this week's prep.
There's a heat wave mugging the East Coast this weekend but that hasn't stopped our entrants from shining like diamonds as they head to the turf course for the final time. With only one more spot left for the Breeders' Cup Turf, it'll be a slugfest to the wire for that final free trip in the 2019 Orfevre Handicap!
