Race Replay
Last week saw Purity storm to the wire in an all out brawl with stablemate Regal, besting her younger rival by only the slimmest of whiskers while running well clear of the rest of the field. Today, Regal is back for more along with six other fillies as they prepare to run 10 furlongs in this year's Flawlessly.
It'll be Turn & Burn's Moxie that'll lead the post parade as the narrow favorite today, as this flashy mare already beat the boys once to earn her way into the BC Turf earlier this season. Stablemate Vixin will be second choice at post time, but in a bit of a headscratcher, as she's found herself off the board in nearly all of her BC preps so far this year. Belmont Stakes and Epsom Oaks winner Noble Hierarch is higher on the board as the third choice, and the longer distance and turf surface may prove to her liking, as this dead closing filly always seems to pop up when least expected. Newcomer Vice Versa hits the grass for the first time this BC season and will look to improve on her in the monety streak with a BC prep victory. Regal is next up and sports longer odds than last out; second only by a nose to Purity, this sophomore filly is taking the jump to the big leagues seriously and giving her old rivals a run for their money. Palenque returns after a subpar effort last out, and the speedy palomino mare will have to significantly improve if she wants to make a dent in this year's BC. Longest of all is Wren in the double digits and after an off the board finish last out, she'll also have to show significant improvement if she wants to play with the big girls.
It's another beautiful day for a horse race with the clouds nowhere to be seen and the sun shining like a supernova in the sky. The track is firm as can be for these seven beautiful fillies and mares, and they'll have to use it to their full advantage to earn their spot in the Breeders' Cup. They're off in the 2019 Flawlessly Handicap!
