Race Replay
Last week saw Baldur dig deep to repel all challengers in the Bold Ruler, holding off Shared Belief and Chantilly by only a desperate neck and nose to find the wire just in time. Today it's a full field of six again as we move to main track and up it a furlong to 7/8s in the Lost in the Fog Stakes.
Rhapsody's Overdraft is back after a one race absence, and he'll be the one to beat on the lead as he's as fast as his name indicates. Shared Belief will try for the third time this season to make it to the Sprint after finishing twice in a row, and Overdraft may just set him up for that with his quick turn of foot. Chantilly is out to do one better after finishing third last out but she'll need to be quicker on the draw to get into the position she needs to thrive. Bad Wolf is a bit of a dark horse here despite the punters' love, finishing fourth last out but beaten by less than two lengths after winning a graded stakes prior to the Bold Ruler. Airdrie Apache pops in for the first time and this red speedballer has run his eyeballs every time, though he needs the perfect free on the lead setup to find the winners' circle. Hells Bells is double digits and needs class relief, though the little bay colt tries his heart out and gets everyone's hopes up when he can cling to he lead - until the final furlong.
While the sun is shining, clouds hover on the horizon promising rain and the wind is kicking up off the sea as these six shining colts and fillies make their way to the main dirt track. It's a wide open field this time around with a number of talented and winsome fillies, as they promise to put on a show in this yaer's 2019 Lost in the Fog Stakes!
