Race Replay
Last week saw Warpaint grind out a win in one of the closest marathons we've seen yet, scraping by on a mere length ahead of stablemate Accendere, herself only a bare nose in front of Daella. Today by the luck of the draw, it's six fillies and mares to contest our 15 furlong marathon distance in this year's Yeat Stakes.
Rhapsody's Accendere leads the field after a close second place finish last out, and with only one other speed horse in the race, may be able to get that loose on the lead run she relishes. Vixin however will be right there with her, and after already nabbing a spot in the BC with a similar tactic, will be looking to make it a double for Turn & Burn today. Veramente Neve makes her BC debut after her brother's appearance in the Turf, and this long-legged grey mare has the turn of foot and looks to make it long. Secret Silence rounds out the Rhapsody contingent and is a wild card, having won from every which way to Sunday and seems to have no predictable running style. Daella however likes to sit right off the pace and she figures to do that today with her snug on the rail position after a rallying third last out. Unrequited is last of all and figures to chase them round the course last of all, as this dead-closing daughter of Marathon champ Sword Play will try to make her daddy proud with another win in the family.
While the sun is shining, clouds hover on the horizon promising rain and the wind is kicking up off the sea as these seven shining fillies make their way to the turf course. It's a wide open field this time around with a number of talented and winsome fillies, as they promise to put on a show in this year's 2019 Yeats Stakes!
