At Seeing Stars, horses may compete in any number of disciplines that have been created specifically for our Petz horses, but are based on disciplines and competitions common in the real world, as follows:
Barrel Racing: a Western-style show where horses perform gallops and barrel turns and compete for the fastest time around 3 barrels.
Combined Driving: a show where ponies and horses compete singly, in pairs, or in teams of four through three competition phases with a carriage in tow: Dressage, Marathon, and Obstacle Cones.
Dressage: an English-style show where horses perform either halts or gaits, depending on their current Dressage level, and may advance levels after earning a high enough score at their current competition level.
Endurance: a sport where horses compete in long-distance endurance rides over various landscapes.
Eventing: an English-style show where horses perform in three separate competitions: Dressage, Cross-Country, and Show Jumping for an overall Eventing score. Horses earn stats to help them advance Eventing levels and compete better against less-experienced horses.
Halter: a conformation show where horses are presented in an unedited, level halt pose and are judged on their conformation, temperament, and overall suitability as breeding stock.
Hunter Under Saddle: an English-style show where horses perform gaits and are judged on their movement, conformation, and manners.
In-Hand: a conformation show where horses are presented in a halt pose, edited with a bridle/halter and lead, and are judged on their conformation, temperament, and overall suitability as breeding stock.
Reining: a Western-style show where horses perform fast-paced gaits and reining poses like the sliding stop, spin, and backup, and are judged on their speed, responsiveness, and precision.
Show Jumping: an English-style show where horses are judged on their takeoff, jump, and landing poses.
Thoroughbred Racing: Thoroughbreds compete against other TBs in races to earn stats and advance grade levels. Annual events include the Dubai World Cup Carnival, the American Triple Crown and Triple Tiara races, the British Classics (English Triple Crown), and the Breeder's Cup.
Western Pleasure: a Western-style show where horses perform slower-paced gaits and are judged on their relaxed but collected movement and calm yet responsive disposition.
-----
Showmanship: Showmanship is unlike the rest of the disciplines because it is judged more on a member's art/image-editing skills rather than the horse's poses/stats/abilities. Horses may be shown in any discipline, including disciplines outside of the official ones listed here, and all editing is allowed as long as the final "pose" still resembles the Petz horse.
