Hello all!
The rest of the staff and I have been absolutely thrilled with how popular Dressage has become, and we're optimistic about Eventing growing as a sport as well. We want to make sure these two disciplines run as smoothly, efficiently, and correctly as possible. We have recently had to make some changes to remedy a troubling issue with dice rolls.
I'm sure some of you have noticed that you occasionally get repeat dice rolls when showing Dressage. To cut a long story short, the repeat dice rolls are actually a function of the plugin to prevent cheating, but it's gone a little off the rails for us. After a quick discussion, we felt it best if dice rolls were now up to judges as opposed to people entering shows. This will hopefully prevent the issue with repeated rolls.
So, good news for people entering shows: You don't have to include dice rolls anymore!
Bad news for judges?: You have to do dice rolls for everyone. The GOOD NEWS--and boy, do I mean good news--is we've figured out a code that allows you to roll 8 10 sided die AND total them. Honestly, this will make judging shows easier than ever.
So, Dressage hosts, here's the code you'll need to roll those die:
[*roll=8d10*]
This rolls 8 10 sided die and totals them up for you, like so:
_CwTbHqN8d10
If you would like to include the points for the pose, you'll need to write out:
[*roll=8d10+20*] with 20 being the points you awarded the pose. It'll turn out like this:
8d10+20
Eventers, here's something to help you guys out!
[*roll=5d10*]
You may even use this to add the horse's stat and photo points, like this:
[*roll=5d10+4*]
The only tricky part about this is that judges will need to post a "score card" for the dice rolls, and then another post for placings.
Since we've made this change, the current dice rolls are broken. So judges, you'll need to roll those dice for your entries starting now. I'm sorry if this is an inconvenience to anyone; we've been kind of learning as we go and we've made changes that we feel are necessary.
Thank you all for continuing to show Dressage & Eventing, as well as for being active members of SS!8d10·8d10+20
