This is the 5th of 7 Kentucky Derby preps on Seeing Stars! Any points your horses earn in this race will be put toward a place in the starting gate of the Kentucky Derby on May 7. Only 14 horses will be allowed to enter on Derby Day, so enter as many preps as possible to build up point counts and stats! GI and under horses may enter! GI - GIII horses will incur high weight imposts to level the field.

Clouds are starting to gather after a beautiful near-spring morning and the threat of snow and rain hangs heavy over a fast track as 12 colts make their way to the gate for this year's Fountain of Youth. Two weeks ago we saw American Pharaoh take them gate to wire in a dazzling display of brilliance, finally ending Skeptic's reign to snap a three race winning streak. Skeptic returns once again as the favorite today with American Pharaoh not far behind in the betting, with Rancor, Chaos, and Ezio not far behind, as Vintage and Bells o War both round out the single digit pool coming off sharp performances. Familiar faces abound as we near the end of our Kentucky Derby road, with the powerhouses of the male 3 year old crop quickly coming to the fore and dominating their competition both in and out of the Derby trail. Every horse here is a stakes winner and more than half are graded winners, bringing a mess of blacktype wins to the track as these 12 colts take to the dirt once again. It's still a track that's been playing to speed over the last few days, and with a number of speedballs in the race, it's all up in the air as they load into the gate for the 2016 Fountain of Youth.
The Road to the Kentucky Derby continues now on SS!
