It's the first Saturday in May and that means the Kentucky Derby is finally here! With a competitive fire rarely seen across the racing forum, 13 colts will go to the post this year in to catch the elusive and so dearly coveted Triple Crown. It is the ultimate test for 3 year olds in the United States and for two glorious minutes, the country stops to see who will win the Run for the Roses against all comers. With a near full field heading to the wire, it's a race full of talent, intrigue and class as one of the best fields in SS history is assembled to shake the forum to its core.

It's the first Saturday in May and after a heart stopping downpour earlier in the day, the sun has come out in full force as the racing gods smile upon the 13 colts taking to the track for the 2016 Kentucky Derby! Champion 2 year old Skeptic of Rhapsody is the narrow favorite over Shaska's Riparian, with that colt's stablemate American Pharaoh and Hard Tack's Rancor not far behind in the betting. Dortmund of Burning Acres comes into the race on a three race hot streak, with Chaos from Rhapsody also coming in after a sharp performance and raring for the upset of his more famous stablemate. The rest of the field is in double digits as the stormy skies and soupy tracks are traded in for bright sunshine and rock hard dirt as the clouds beat a hasty retreat. It's a day fit for kings and only one of these 13 colts can be crowned the Kentucky Derby champion before a roaring crowd here at Churchill Downs!
