Two weeks ago, Skeptic ran to his pedigree to storm to his stable's first Kentucky Derby win, gamely outlasting stablemate Chaos to give Rhapsody a 1 - 2 sweep in their first year of the Classics. With the roses firmly on his shoulders, Skeptic has taken the first jewel of the Triple Crown in style, and comes into the Preakness looking to make a hat trick for his family, after sire Sent By Ares and sister Athena Watchover took the middle jewel in years prior. The battle for the Crown moves to Balitmore, MD as Old Hilltop is now the stage for the return of Skeptic and a number of challengers old and new to try and spoil his run for greatness as the Triple Crown continue here on Seeing Stars!

Two weeks ago, we witnessed greatness as Skeptic roared to the front of the pack near the wire and tenaciously held off his stablemate Chaos for a historic win the Kentucky Derby. Though he won only by a neck, that hasn't kept him from scoring even more impressively in the Olympic qualifiers and he returns this week against 11 other colts to vie for the middle jewel of the Triple Crown. This time around it's Rancor of Hard Tack that holds favoritism after a failed late bid in the Derby, with stablemate Warlord garnering third two weeks ago. Skeptic is the second choice with Chaos in the single digits; Burning Acres returns with noted speedster Dortmund, and Shaska will try once again with the speedy duo of American Pharaoh and Riparian to try and take Skeptic down at the start. It's a loaded race with speed as Hawkstone's Ezio joins the front runner fray, along with RKO's Native Dancer; RKO's second colt Remington prefers to do his running late, as does Turn and Burn's Nizmo, whose last race saw him a sharp third in an Olympic qualifier.
It's a sloppy messy track out there today with rain coming down in buckets, and it'll be a battle not just against his rivals but against Mother Nature herself as Skeptic leads the field onto the track for the 6th Preakness Stakes!
The Road to the Triple Crown continues NOW on SS!
