Eventing is the ultimate test of horse and rider. One event, three disciplines in three days, testing the resolve of the partnership between horse and rider. One of the most popular equestrian sports worldwide, Eventing drew over 70 of the best horse and rider teams in the world to the London Olympic games in 2012.
Dressage is held on the first day in a breathtaking outdoor stadium where spectators enjoy the grace, refined beauty, and elegance of dressage as competitors trot their way through the first phase of competition. Dressage tests the gaits, suppleness, and obedience of the horse through a series of prescribed movements.
Cross-Country, the second phase, is the highlight of Eventing. Thousands of spectators gather outdoors to watch horses and riders gallop over four miles of challenging terrain, at speeds up to 25 mph, while negotiating remarkable obstacles such as jumps, water hazards, banks, and ditches.
Jumping, held on the third day, brings the focus on energy and precision back to the outdoor stadium where spectators witness the world’s finest horses and riders test their athletic ability, conditioning, and training as they soar over jumps.
I often wonder why there aren't very many people competing in Eventing on SS, and I think it's because it's intimidating (three poses AND stats!?) and also maybe some of you have never seen real Eventing or know what it is. It's THRILLING to watch and my personal favorite, even though it takes forever to watch a whole competition. Cross-Country is addicting, if you have 4-5 hours to waste, go ahead and youtube the London 2012 Olympic Cross-Country haha. But here's some awesome videos that are MUCH shorter...
Now I'm here to fix the part about stats and poses! I will accept beginner horses and work with them for as long as I have them (so the sooner you send them, the better). Near the end of our stop in Canada, you will be welcome to come and watch their first event, held in the beautiful countryside in Canada, where the top three horses will earn at least 2 stat points, and the rest will earn at least 1 stat point (more points may be awarded depending on the number of entries.) You will then take your novice level eventers back (with their poses and stats) and be able to start working them and competing. There would even be time for you to possibly qualify for the Olympic Novice Eventing! If you would rather keep your horses with you, there is an option for you to enroll in the clinic and not send them in.
I encourage anyone and everyone to enroll in the clinic!
There will be a graphic award for participating in the clinic (a button/ribbon/banner or something, I'll figure it out haha). If you send in your horses, I'll do my best to get quality poses that you can use in other disciplines, but some mods and some horses don't cooperate as well. As a bonus, you'll also receive any pictures I get on the side, like extra jumps, gaits, or other cute pictures from training sessions.
Rules
♦ 1 - 2 horses per person
♦ Unlimited entries total
♦ Only horses that have NO Eventing experience are eligible
♦ If you send in your horse, I am the handler and I will assign the stat points they earn here
♦ The clinic closes on May 28th regardless of the amount of entries & the competition will be the 29th-31st
If you want me to pose them, send them to jewellzc@yahoo.com along with any textures they require. Unfortunately, I cannot accept P5 horses but if you have a P4 version feel free to send it, and I also cannot accept any horses on mods with severely lowered necks such as pleasure Appaloosas and QHs. I'd recommend warmbloods, sport horses, and Thoroughbreds since they are some of the most versatile and usually do well in Eventing. (Irish Sporthorses are pretty amazing! ♥)

If you prefer to handle your own horses but don't want to miss out on this lovely clinic in Canada, you may handle them yourself and fill out the form below. The horse must have NO Eventing stats and the poses must be in keeping with the Eventing Guidelines.

I plan on enrolling one or two of my own horses in the clinic, since the scores in the competition will be random because all horses will start with no stats and all poses must be suitable for the discipline, making bonus points (assigned by the judge for the suitability of the pose) unnecessary.
