Race Replay
Last week we saw Dracarys, a first time BC starter, nail reigning champion stayer Empire City at the wire to earn his spot in the BC Marathon. Today, seven more horses will stride onto the turf for a journey even longer than last week's Round Table, this time at 15 furlongs. Hard Tack leads the parade with favored Ansia, last year's winner of this race and current record holder; Empire City returns to avenge last week's tough beat against his upstart stablemate. BlueJay enters cracking stayer Thunder Cat, a dangerous colt on any occasion that has more than once beaten his archrival Empire City for the pie. Rhapsody comes in with both Warpaint and Accendere, the former a come from off the pace fireball and Accendere a speed-loving filly that loves having things her own way on the front. Turn & Burn enters Vixin, another speedy filly that looks to upset the chances of her more accomplished rivals. Black Water Estate debuts their juvenile filly Hello, a Rio finalist and stakes winner in her own right, as she takes a huge jump up in class. With only seven horses entered this time around, there won't be any traffic problems in this marathon and it's anyone's race as they step onto the turf for the 2016 edition of the Sadlers Wells Handicap!
