Race Replay
Last week we saw Southern Dancer, the 2014 winner of the F&M Turf, return in style with a sharp victory against her rivals to return to defend her title. Seven fillies will make their return and debut as three more spots loom for females of all ages in this year's BC race. Rhapsody leads the way with favored Serenity, who looks to bounce back after a just-short performance last week at 9 furlongs; Hard Tack returns with two more fillies, the cracking Bold Lady, daughter of a BC Turf winner, and Sorcery, another daughter of a BC winner who is a late running cyclone like her stablemate. 2015 BC Mile winner Royal Angel looks to improve on her second place finish and add yet another BC Turf event to her resume; Turn & Burn comes in swinging with two sharp long distance fillies, the speed loving Vixin, already a graded stakes winner, and the closing Moxie, who may be in a little over her head as she jumps up in class. BlueJay once again rounds out the field with the fiery Thunderstruck, a speedball of a filly that looks to extend that speed to 10 furlongs for the first time. With only seven fillies and mares stepping onto the firm turf today, it's nonetheless a quality and star-studded field as they load into the gate for the 2016 edition of the Flawlessly Memorial Handicap!
