Race Replay
Last week we saw Empire City give Hard Tack a hat trick as he became the third horse from the storied stable to roar his way into the BC Marathon. Today, six more horses will contest for that last free spot in the Marathon, and it's rivals familiar and new that will look to run this grueling 15 furlongs. Rhapsody leads the way with a trio packed in power and class; Accendere, daughter of Empire City, looks to improve on last week's 2nd place finish to her sire with her high cruising speed, while Warpaint and Secret Silence with try the BC for the first time to find that coveted spot in the winner's circle. Black Water Estate sends out crack juvenile Hello, who faces older horses but still has the guns to run with the big boys. Turn & Burn sends out Vixin, another speedy filly that loves long distances, and Burning Acres will come in with Rio gold medalist Afleet Alex, who makes an intriguing addition to this already loaded prep. With only six horses going nearly two miles on the grass, it's a race that promises thrills to the finish as they load up for this year's Ribot Handicap!
