Race Replay
A rainstorm earlier in the day has given us some of our first off tracks of the series and we'll start on the turf with the California Flag!
Last week we saw Warlord just out-finish last year's Turf Sprint champion Royal Angel by a mere nose, and this week it's six more turf standouts to join him on the trip to the Breeders' Cup! Hawkstone Stables returns after a long layoff with top handicapper Duality, last year's dirt Sprint winner, along with turf specialist Enigmatic Lament and Deja Entendu, taking a big step up in class as he runs with the big boys. Hard Tack comes back in with Sassy Lassie, a top filly in her juvenile and sophmore seasons, but now seeming to reach the end of her career as she has struggled in past starts. Rhapsody comes in with Voodoo, winner of the Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai and showing a good affinity to the turf, and stakes winner Gambit, another horse that's struggled to find the winner's cirlce in her past starts but looking to take a big step here in the BC. With only six horses coming in for the fight, it's a field short on betting interests but big on talent as we load them into the gate for this year's edition of the California Flag Handicap!
