Race Replay
It's been a soggy week on the East Coast and the ground is finally drying out as we commence our Breeders' Cup drills this week, led off by our turf afficiandoes!
Last week we saw Voodoo roar to a come from behind victory to earn her spot in the BC Turf and this week only six horses will contest the giving ground for the Phalaris. Hard Tack leads the way with Sassy Lassie, a speedy mare that seems to be finally rounding into form after consecutive off the board finishers, and sends out War Chimes, once a commodity on the TT trail to make her BC debut. Rhapsody returns with Riot, Voodoo's hard luck son that is still searching for that elusive winner's cicle, and Gambit, a grey juvenile filly that is taking a steep step up in class and does her best running late. Hawkstone returns with Enigmatic Lament, a tough as nails colt that checked in third in last week's California Flag and Deja Entendu, a hard luck horse that never fails to try but has hard a time finding the winner's circle. With only six horses to try the turf in this week's sprint, it's a toss up on who can best handle the hard going as they load into the gate for this year's Phalaris Stakes!
