Race Replay
Last week we saw Honestly tear down the center of the track to put away a classy field of milers to earn her spot in the BC and it'll be 11 more horses this week looking for that last free ride into the BC Dirt Mile!
Hard Tack comes in swinging with dual classic and Dubai World Cup winner Cyclone Princess, looking to add another BC race to her resume, though unproven at a flat mile; Swashbuckle, a leading contender for top dirt male in training, and Carrig, looking to end that long winner's drought after a luckless second half of the season. Hawkstone roars in with last year's Sprint champion Duality, looking to improve off his long layoff; The Final Apostle, Rio gold medalist and crack dirt sprinter; and Ezio, once a leading contender for the Triple Crown but now looking to conquer the Breeders' Cup in his first appearance. Rhapsody throws down the gauntlet with Charisma, a top sophomore filly and already qualified for the Sprint; and Overdraft, last year's winner of the Coaltown and current stakes record holder. Burning Acres comes in with Dortmund, another top sophomore and a colt that has been knocking on the BC door in his last starts; while BlueJay returns with SeaBlue Royalty, a Grade II winner last out and looking to keep that streak alive. Turn & Burn rounds out the field with Onyx, a Grade II placed runner that recently jumped up in class and looks to improve on that record.
With eleven horses taking to the fast track today, it's a race as loaded as any with only one more chance for all of these horses to win a free trip to the Breeders' Cup and it'll be a roaring race to the winners' circle as they load into the gate for this year's Coaltown Handicap!
