Race Replay
Last week, Chantilly pulled a come from behind victory that further muddled the three year old filly picture, as a different horse has won each of the Oaks preps so far! Without a dominating leading lady heading into the Oaks, we continue to our final destination with our next stop on the Road to the Lillies.
Hard Tack now boasts favoritism in Gaelic Gold, a half sister to both a Derby and an Oaks winner, and a top two year old that has placed well in the series; Player Hater follows closely on her stablemate's heels to try and recapture the form that saw her win a prep a month prior. Rhapsody comes back once more with Chantilly, last week's scintillating winner and now a Dubai stakes winner, and Songbird, champion two year old filly and another sharp winner on the Road to the Oaks. Tipsy rounds out the trio and while she may be a notch below her stablemates, she's been cleaning up in allowance company and looks ready to step into the big time. Rounding out the field is Burning Acres' Purple Heart, royally bred and related to Gaelic Gold through her sire, but struggling to find the form that rocketed her to the top of the OL distaff ranks. With only six fillies to once again contest a mile and an eighth, they'll do it for the first time in the snow as a winter storm stalls out over the Great Lakes. It's a field long on class and wide open to some of the best fillies on the forum as they load into the gate for this year's Gulfstream Park Oaks!
The Road to the Lillies continues now on SS!
