Race Replay
Two weeks ago, Gaelic Gold became the only three year old filly on the forum to take two Oaks preps this year, striking to the finish with her dramatic come from behind rush that leaves foes scrambling. Today, our familiar group of six fillies will take to the track once more as we near the end of our road to the Kentucky Oaks.
This time around, Rhapsody's Chantilly leads the field as the favorite after a facile score in Dubai, followed by champion 2 year old filly Songbird, looking to regain a tailing form, and Tipsy, still struggling a bit with this step up in class. Hard Tack comes back swinging with Gaelic Gold, the narrow second choice as the current dominating three year old filly and Player Hater, a winner already on the trail but fighting to regain her dominance on the track. Burning Acres rounds out the field with Purple Heart, longest shot on the board and least experienced of the bunch, but still full of fight whenver she runs. With these six fillies taking to a track only recently dried out from a deluge, it's going to be a tactition's battleground as speed looks to triumph stamina in this year's Ashland Stakes!
The Road to the Kentucky Oaks continues NOW on Seeing Stars!
