Race Replay
It's our last turf race of the night, and it's the longest one on the card as seven turf distance specialists take to the track for the Sheema Classic!
Hard Tack leads the way with last year's victor Empire City, who annexed the 2016 BC Marathon to cap off an Eclipse winning year. He's joined by Ansia, an old hat mare that has never failed to impress and Corkscrew, the oldest horse of the field but arguably one of the most talented despite his spotty attendence record the last few years. Hawkstone follows close behind with Muse of Fire, daughter of two Marathon and Eclipse winners and a speedball of a filly who does her best running far ahead of the field. Turn & Burn loads up the rest of the field with Vixin, another quick running filly that has done nothing wrong in her last several starts; Moxie, a dead closer of a gal that will be looking for a piece of it late; and Leon, longest shot on the board but a multiple stakes winner when he can get his own way. With seven turf specialists on tap, it promises to be an intriguing 12 furlongs as they load up into the gate for the 2017 edition of the Sheema Classic!
