Race Replay
A few weeks ago, Player Hater dug in for a game as they come victory over a driving Chantilly to notch her second win on the Oaks trail, but it's all coming down to the wire tonight as we enter the final stop on the Road to the Lillies 2017!
Hard Tack returns with race favorite Gaelic Gold, who has already won twice to put herself near the top of the three year old filly crop, and Player Hater, who holds the number one spot on the leaderboard and is the narrow second choice behind her stablemate. Rhapsody comes in with a three-pronged assault with two year old champion Songbird, looking to rebound from a disappointing fourth last out in the Ashland, Chantilly, who was second to Player Hater in that race, and Tipsy, looking to garner some of the form that has won her a number of minor stakes and allowances already this season. Burning Acres rounds out the field with longshot Purple Heart, who comes into the race in her best form this season after a tight second in a first-tier allowance race.
With these six fillies once again lining up for the final time before the main event, a rainstorm has stalled over the east coast to soak the track into a soupy mess. It's all on talent and class tonight as we line up for this year's edition of the Gazelle Stakes on the way to the lillies!
The Road to the Kentucky Oaks ENDS tonight on Seeing Stars!
