Two weeks ago, Augustus roared to the wire by open lengths in the Kentucky Derby to continue his dominance of the male division, leaving a hard charging Lost Hero to trail in his wake. With the roses firmly on his shoulders, Augustus has taken the first jewel of the Triple Crown in style, and comes into the Preakness looking to make it a double for his owner Sunfire Stables. The battle for the Crown moves to Balitmore, MD as Old Hilltop is now the stage for the return of Augustus and a number of challengers old and new to try and spoil his run for greatness as the Triple Crown continue here on Seeing Stars!

Call
Two weeks ago, we witnessed one of the more scintillating of Derby victories as Augustus stampeded from off the pace to smash his way into the Kentucky Derby record books. Taking after his brother and sister, Augustus added yet another Classic win to his family's heritage and skyrocketed to the top of the racing ranks on the forum!
Augustus is once again the favorite in a field of 10, looming large over his rivals as the champion 2 year old male. Rhapsody's Delirium is the close second choice, with Turn & Burn's Keen Ice as the third betting favorite heading onto the track. Motive is not far behind with Apparition hot on his heels, with only Lost Hero and Upstart as the only other single digit choices in the field, with the rest in the double digits and climbing. It's a race loaded with talent and a wide variety of running styles, with only two pacesetters on the hook this time to set it up for the closers as we take to a track that has, in the past, been seen as speed favoring.
It's a cloudy day as the threat of rain hovers over the track, but the dirt has since been upgraded to fast as Augustus leads the way to the starting gate for the 7th Preakness Stakes!
The Road to the Triple Crown continues NOW on SS!
