Race Replay
It's that time of year again as the spring Classics roar to the mainstage of thoroughbred racing, and all newly minted three year olds are revving their engines for a shot at the legendary Triple Crown!
BlueJay Stable takes the lead this year with Passero as the top betting choice, coming off a strong two year old campaign that saw him win multiple stakes as a juvenile. Hawkstone comes in strongly with the daughter of 2015 Preakness winner Athena Watchover in Lady of Athens, sitting in at the second spot. Hard Tack comes in guns blazing after a swing and a miss in last year's Triple Crown, with Fulgurite striking in as the third choice and Heretic Queen, daughter of 2016 Derby winner Skeptic and 2016 Oaks winner Cyclone Princess, as the longest shot on the board. Rhapsody comes in with a full hand with Pagan, another multiple stakes winning juvenile; Scandal, another foal from Derby winner Skeptic; and Shared Belief, a stakes winning juvenile who does his best running late and the only closer in a field full of front runners.
It's a sunny but bitterly cold day on the East Coast, with the rest of the country ramping up for tomorrow's Super Bowl. Here at the track, however, it's all about the Crown as these seven primed and ready colts and fillies enter the gate for this year's Rebel Stakes.
The Road to the Kentucky Derby begins NOW on SS!
