Race Replay
Two weeks ago, the road to the Lillies began with a bang as Rhapsody's Mesmerize powered to a sharp triumph in the Silverbulletday, leading her stable to the lead once again as make our way to that first Friday in May for the Kentucky Oaks!
Hawkstone leads the way this time as the hallowed stable looks to replicate their 2015 Triple Triumph with Lady of Athens, a bay clone of her dam Athena Watchover and a front running bullet to watch out for. Redeemed joins her highly esteemed stablemate but is facing a tall order against this accomplished class of fillies as the longest shot in the field. Rhapsody returns with Mesmerize as the second choice, with Cynic and Cursed both looking to do their best running late as longshots on the board. Paperbark makes their Triple Tiara debut with the grey freight train Fifth Month, another front running filly that has proven to be unstoppable once she's loose on that lead. Hard Tack rounds out the field with Heretic Queen, another daughter of an Oaks winner, and a serious front running threat; Acrimony is right on her heels and is looking to pick up the pieces of a pace meltdown.
It's a sunny day now that calls for a helluva storm in the evening, so these electric fillies better do their best running before the thunder comes as they line up in the gate for this year's Davona Dale Stakes.
The Road to the Oaks continues NOW on Seeing Stars!
