Race Replay
Two(ish) weeks ago, Heretic Queen continued her domination of both sophmore divisions with a record breaking victory in the Santa Anita Derby. With this final prep before the Kentucky Derby, it's all on the line for our three year olds as they fight for those last Derby points and stats before one of them is crowned with Roses!
Rhapsody's Pagan, winner of this year's UAE Derby, is the narrow favorite today after a runner up finish in the Santa Anita Derby, and looks to take sweet revenge on his female arch rival. He's joined by stablemates Scandal and Shared Belief, two more colts that have hit the board on the Derby trail but haven't quite gotten that breakthrough. Hard Tack's Heretic Queen is looking to cement her status as top horse on the forum with a final win on the Derby trail, while stablemate Fulgurite is still looking to end that downward skid that seems inexplicable after a stellar juvenile campaign. BlueJay's two year old male champ Passero is back for more with only one win on the Derby trail but he's been tearing through open company races on his climb to the top and looks to loom a tough opponent once more. Hawkstone rounds out the bunch with Lady of Athens, a multiple winner on both the Derby and Oaks trails and a top three year old filly; Other Worlds, a close but no cigar colt that has one career win but several close finishes; and Redeemed, the filly that has taken it upon herself to finish last so no one else has to.
With spring in full swing, the track is lightning fast and the horses glittering like living diamonds as these nine colts and fillies take to the track for the final Derby prep of 2018, the Wood Memorial!
The Road to the Kentucky Derby ENDS NOW on Seeing Stars!
