- Up to 3 entries per person, 14 horses total.
- Please double-check your horse's distance and surface preferences to make sure you want to enter them. All British Classics and trials are run on turf tracks!
- Horses of any grade level are welcome! Impost weight will increase the higher grade they are.
- Horses competing in this race will be considered 3 years old in the year 2019 and will not be eligible to compete in any 3yo races in future years.
- Competing in this race will enable your horse to enter into any upcoming 2019 British Classic races! A horse must compete in at least one trial/prep this year before entering a Classic race. (The British call them trials, Americans call them preps. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
- The first Classics are the 2000 Guineas (8F) on May 4th and the 1000 Guineas (8F, fillies only) on May 5th.
This race is restricted to 3-year-old fillies only!
If your filly competed in any 3yo race (the Triple Crown/Tiara series, UAE Derby, British Classics) from 2011 - 2018, it is ineligible this year. You can check this post and this one to ensure your horse has not previously participated.
Six fillies will load into the gate for the Prix Finlande in France, some of which we saw race two weeks ago in the Fred Darling Stakes, where Sagittarius fought tenaciously all the way to the wire for her well-deserved win. Not all of the fillies made the trip across the Channel, but France introduces some new faces to the Classic Series with the Prix Finlande.
Rhapsody Stable's Djinn is again the favorite, having shown some fine form recently, though no wins in recent starts. Hard Tack's Noble Hierarch, a well-bred filly with a number of in-the-money finishes and a recent allowance win, is the first new face and second choice. Rhapsody's Purity, another newcomer, is a talented filly that excels at longer distances, and is third choice with the bettors. The final new face, Regal, isn't too far behind her stablemate in the odds, the filly showed some promise at the start of her career but has seemed a little off her game or out of her depth in recent starts.
Hard Tack's Chiricahua and Messalina sport a bit longer odds, but they're not to be counted out as both have excellent pedigrees and training.
The next trial is back in England in one week! It will be the first trial to allow both colts and fillies.
