Race Replay
Two weeks ago, Damask FINALLY won one for the boys as he has been the only colt in this unprecendeted season to win a Derby prep - and only by the slimmiest of margins! With this final prep before the Kentucky Derby, it's all on the line for our three year olds as they fight for those last Derby points and stats before one of them is crowned with Roses!
Elysium is finally the favorite after butting heads all season long with long-time rival Illicit, but it's only narrowly as Illicit will look to snatch yet another victory away from her nemesis. Damask shares the second spot with his stablemate after two scintilliating victories on both the Derby trail and allowance company. General Disarray has jumped way up in prestige after winning the last trial for the British 2000 Guineas, and this full brother to Illicit may have shown his true affinity for turf rather than dirt. Lani isn't far behind and has had his talent on full display through the allowance ranks, skipping up several notches to hopefully make his mark on the Derby field. Djinn is the longest shot on the board in this race today, as the speedy daughter of Ruffian looks for a placement to earn her way into the Kentucky Derby.
With spring in full swing, the track is lightning fast and the horses glittering like living diamonds as these six colts and fillies take to the track for the final Derby prep of 2019, the Wood Memorial!
The Road to the Kentucky Derby ENDS NOW on Seeing Stars!
