Race Replay
Two weeks ago, Elysium continued her imperial war with Illicit as these two fillies once more finished 1 - 2 in the Ashland Stakes, the penultimate race of the spring filly classic season. With this final prep before the Kentucky Oaks, it's all on the line for our three year olds as they fight for those last Oaks points and stats before one of them is crowned with Lillies!
Elysium finally gets favoritism in this last race of the season, holding only the narrowest of margins over arch-rival Illicit as these two once again will go head to head for Oaks points. Lark will take the third spot today after winning her last allowance race, with Djinn hot on her heels after some recent sparkling races in the run up to the Oaks. Noble Hierarch won't be far behind as this filly has already won one prep for the 1000 Guineas and looks like she may be better on turf than dirt as the British Classic season opens. Wildbird will the longest shot on the board, and this speedy daughter of two Triple winners will look to run them off their feet in one final dash for the Oaks leaderboard.
With spring in full swing, the track is lightning fast and the horses glittering like living diamonds as these seven fillies take to the track for the final Oaks prep of 2019, the Gazelle Stakes!
The Road to the Kentucky Oaks ENDS NOW on Seeing Stars!
