Race Replay
One Triple Crown winner. One two-year-old male champion. One two-year-old female champion. Numerous Grade 2 winners and Oaks prep victresses, this is the race that we've all be waiting for. It's time to THROW DOWN in the Dubai World Cup!
Turn & Burn's Virgo leads the way today and with his speedy turn of foot, he'll be the one to watch as he loves to run his rivals straight off their feet. Horus won't be far behind and the two year old male champ will look to improve on his second in the UAE Derby on one of the biggest stages in the world. Handsome Cahokia Sky has had some bad luck lately but medicine hat horses are said to be some of the luckiest ones out there and he'll look to turn it around at 10 furlongs. Triple Crown winner Pagan had to settle for second best last in the Cup, but as one of the fastest horses in the field, he'll need to use that to break clean and clear this large field. Mesmerize will look to utilize that speed to her own gain, as a fast pace is the best case scenario for this pretty filly. Flashy Lark will look to improve her career after last year's Triple Tiara adventure, with UAE Derby winner Coco will look to make it a twofer on the dirt with another free on the lead trip. Girl Gone Wild is double digits after an eventful Oaks trail, while Buchiko will face the same odds after a win in the Gulfstream Park Oaks but a flat trip in the UAE Derby. Road warrior Styx rounds out the Hard Tack contigent in the double digits, while Under The Mask is the longest shot of all, despite her own wins on dirt on the Oaks trail.
It's the race that everyone has been waiting for, as these 11 colts and fillies finally look to settle the score on who is the best on the dirt as we load up for this year's DUBAI WORLD CUP!
