Neco's Olympic Auction #1: North America
I'LL TELL YOU WHUT, I will tell you whut - if you're ever visiting North America, skip Kansas and Nebraska, unless you love hundreds of miles of absolutely nothing. Also try not to get eaten by polar bears, I hear that's a big problem they're having up in Canada.
For every stop on the tour, I will be posting TWO new horses hexed on breeds that are endemic to the continent, but maybe you never heard of? Or maybe you got more of that "book-lernin" than this gal from the Midwest, and you know your ponies.
This week, we have... an American Paint Horse and a Canadian Sport Horse!

Black Jack
American Paint Horse
Black Pinto (Tobiano) Stallion
- Comes with unlevel halt and extended trot
The American Paint Horse is not so much a breed as it is also a catch all term for any pinto or paint horse. The American Paint Horse Association is the largest breed association in the US, and a number of breeds, such as Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses, may be dual-registered with the APHA along with their own breed clubs. As a general breed, the ideal Paint Horse a muscular horse that isn't too tall, has a low center of gravity and a big ol butt to fuel the acceleration needed for stock work. A Paint Horse would be great for Olympic WESTERN PLEASURE, REINING AND BARREL RACING.
Starting Bid: 500 SS
Min Increase: 50 SS

Bonnie
Canadian Sport Horse
Flaxen Chestnut Sabino Mare
- Comes with unlevel halt and canter
The Canadian Sport Horse is another name that seems to be a catch all term for a general group of warmblood horses, than any particular breed standard (that I could find). The Canadian Sport Horse derived originally from Canadian farm horses crossbred with speedy Thoroughbreds imported from England, and suddenly you had elegant, hunter-type horses parading in front of plows and pulling buggies. With the additional import of European warmbloods in the latter half of the 20th Century, the ideal CSH sports conformation similar to English and Irish hunter-type horses, but there doesn't seem to be a flat standard, much like the APH. The CSH would excel in Olympic DRESSAGE, SHOW JUMPING and SHOW HUNTERS.
Starting Bid: 500 SS
Min Increase: 50 SS
