Race Replay
2020 has been a topsy turvy year for the world of horse racing, but the Breeders' Cup is a force that stops for no man or virus - we're on our way back to Keeneland for this year's championship racing festival!
Kentucky Oaks winner Coco leads the field as she has done for much of her career, after scoring in the Oaks and Black-Eyed Susan and nearly taking the Triple Tiara with a narrow third in the Acorn. Hard Tack's Buchiko, second in every Tiara race this year, will continue to chase the dragon that is Coco and will try to best her for a second time after finishing in front of her in the Olympics. Mesmerize will be right there will her and joins her in the 2nd Best Club, having finished 2nd in the 2018 Triple Tiara series, but she has toppled more favorites than any other horse in the forum in her career since. Stablemate Tipsy is another 2nd place Acorn finisher that's gone on to higher success after her sophomore season, and she's run with the best for most of her career - and beaten several of them. Sophomore Dapper Doll jumps back onto dirt after a foray onto turf for the British Triple series, while Duchess will look to build on her Olympic success on the main track over a route of ground against older fillies for the first time. Mary Lou is another Olympic hopeful that's come for a Breeders' Cup shot after a subpar early season, while Djinn returns from an extended layoff after dueling 2019 Triple Tiara winner Elysium for most of her sophomore season. Rosehill is a question mark of a performer after a rollercoaster of a career, with more downs than ups against high caliber company, while Gracie will need to dig deep to repeat her win on the trials trail across the pond against this kind of company.
We're back in the big leagues this year with an extremely talented field of fillies and mares for this year's Personal Ensign, with spring classic winners and Olympic medalists alike bashing heads on the main track. But however talented they all may be one, only one can win that coveted spot in the Breeders' Cup Distaff.
The Road to the Breeders' Cup begins RIGHT NOW on Seeing Stars!
