Welcome to the Breeder's Cup Marathon! Alt 15 furlongs, the Marathon is the longest race in BC history and is only for those who have the stamina and the sheer willpower to run nearly two miles at full tilt. Fillies have taken the last two years running of the Marathon, and we have an excess of ladies entered this year. Will we make it a Marathon Ladies' Night this year too, or will one of the males put a stop to their long-distance dominance?

For those of you who want to enter horses that are not already qualified, it will cost you 8 BC POINTS which will be deducted from your horse's total BC points found here. Once your horse has entered, I will subtract from your total and you'll be good to go! If you see I've made a mistake in calculating your points of your horses, please PM me![/div]

+ Up to three horses per person, the gate fills at 14 horses but will race with less

CONGRATULATIONS TO ACCENDERE AND RHAPSODY FOR WINNING THE BREEDERS' CUP MARATHON!

Accendere is one of the top female marathoners on the forum but it took her several tries to get there in the Breeders' Cup. After ceding the lead to Eight Seconds for most of the race, the flashy filly took the battle to him on the far turn, with stablemate Warpaint running nose to nose into the stretch. Accendere sent him packing with less than a furlong to go and looked free and clear - until Unrequited found room to run on the outside and Daella split horses to her inside. These three furious fillies roared to the wire but Accendere managed to keep them all at bay to give Rhapsody their long-awaited win in the Marathon!

Accendere is Rhapsody's first winner in the Marathon and the fourth filly in a row to win the race.
