Welcome all to the University of Guelph! We hope you enjoy your visit here just as much as we love living here. We are very excited to be opening our campus for the first annual SS world tour! Here at UoG, you may participate in two events. The first event will take place here in this area, and will be the College Royal livestock show! If you're not familiar with College Royal, please take a look at this video!
To enter into the livestock show, just read the following information about poses required, fill out the form, and you're off!
College Royal Livestock Show Guideline
Since this is just a fun competition, animals are not judged as strictly as our horse disciplines here at ss. The main thing I will be judging on is alignment, which is quite easy to achieve!
Show Categories
There are two main categories of showing, and 3 subcategories. The two main show categories are:
Showmanship:
Similar to halter shows (but not nearly as strict), your animal will be judged on its pose. The most important thing here is alignment. For the dog and cat subcategories, they must be in show pose. For the other category, the pose is similar to our conf pose, where it is just the animal standing looking to the side.
Fitting:
This is the category if you'd like to edit your pose with eyeshines, shading, etc. It is partially judged by die, and partially judge's choice. Any realistic pose for that animal can be entered into this category.
The subcategories are: Dog, Cat, and Other (Cattle, Donkey, Goat, Sheep, Pig, Chicken, Bunny, Llamas, Alpacas, or Ducks). If there happens to be 5 of one species in the other category, they will be judged in their own category. This is just to make sure that there is enough entries of non-horse, non-cat/dog animals to judge. There are unlimited entries!
