Welcome to the next leg of the SS World Tour - the United States of America!
Just a jump from Canada, we descend to the Lower 48 where horses have long been part of the American psyche - from the Chincoteague ponies that washed up from their Spanish galleon in Virginia, to the blue-blooded Thoroughbreds of Louisville and the proud mustangs of the American West, the horse has long been a symbol of freedom and power in these 50 states.
On your stop in the US, you'll find a number of unique and compelling sports to participate in - from the elegance of hunter under saddle, the thrill of three-day eventing and the flash and style of dressage.
Showing:
For the US, we will be specializing in the following show types: Hunter Under Saddle, Western Pleasure, Show Jumping, Eventing and Dressage. Each event will be marked with "World Tour: US" to denote which is a participating show.
Cultural Event
The horse is a staple in a number of Plains Indian tribes, so much to the point that horses are considered part of their pantheon of mother and father spirits. In battle, warriors would paint their horses with various symbols to imbue them with certain powers, including bringing their partners from unscathed from the raids and skirmishes. In our cultural event, you'll be able to paint one of your own horses in the tradition of the Apache and the Sioux so you'll horse will give you the same powers as those ancient warriors.
In addition to flashing off your art and anthropology skills, you'll also in line to win 10,000 SS IN GRAND PRIZE MONEY to spend on any horses that catch your eye in the sales! It's a win-win for all the things!
Adoptions
Where else in the world will you find both hot-blooded race horses and battle-tough mustangs side by side? American Quarter horses, American mustangs and stock horses will be available for adoption and sale over the course of your stay in the US. Anyone is allowed to post their adoptions - the more the merrier!
Dog/Cat Events:
Agility is one of the few American dog sports we can call our own and now we're calling all dogs to participate! In agility, you will be required to run your dog through a demanding course of poles, tunnels and A-frames to prove just how sazzy your dog is. Agility is open to any and all breeds, and will earn you sweet street cred in the process, along with a fun bonding experience with your dog.
There is also a 5,000 SS GRAND PRIZE for the winner of this competition, so why not go enter so your dog can earn you a horse to buy in the sale?!
