Nanorat Stables is happy to present you our newest resident, a breathtaking saddlebred stallion Claude, which we acquired from Pollution!
The poor guy was mistreated and starved by his former owners, and after helping him through the sharpest peak of his recover, Pollution trusted Nanorat Stables with his further rehabilitation!
Rehabilitating a horse after starvation is a new experience for us, so obviously, all the staff were excited and nervous about Claude's arrival.
The trailer arrived right on schedule, but we were just a few minutes not ready for it; suddenly realising we forgot to bring over a ramp to help Claude walk out of the trailer, we rushed back to get it, but Claude was not inclined to wait any longer to get out of the hot, stuffy trailer.
In our worry, we left the door open, and Claude, pushing it with his muzzle, jumped right out and rejoiced at the fresh air.
Despite already having gone through treatments, he still bears a visible aftermath of starvation, and his walk is off from time to time after severely overgrown hooves, something we will have to work to get him fully recovered from.
Our concern about him running loose was overestimated, though - this guy is a pure dream! He came over basically at the first call. He wasnt spooked nor anxious, he was simply enjoying the cool breeze after hours of travelling under burning sun.
He wasnt all that eager to go into the barn, though. He doesnt seem to like enclosed structures much, trying to stay as far from walls as he possibly can, and getting him to go in was a bit of a hiccup.
He agreed to go inside after being shown some hay, though. Our state vet recommended just a small portion of alfalfa hay for today.
This is going to be it for today. Lets let Claude rest and recover from the stress of travelling here.
Stay tuned for further updates! :3
