World Tour: Iberian Peninsula

Welcome to the Iberian Peninsula, home of the elegant and versatile Andulusian family of horse breeds. From the PSL and PRE to the Hispano Arab, the Iberian Peninsula is a popular Mecca for horse lovers around the world, especially those hip-deep in the art of Dressage. The Iberian Peninsula is rich in history, being one of the longest populated places in Europe, with over a million years of human history buried in its soil and the horse its constant companion.

Here in the Iberian Peninsula, you'll find a number of shows, horses and events to pique your interest and catch your fancy, so please enjoy your stay!

Show Types
Here in Iberia, we're only focusing on two disciplines this time - Dressage and Driving. Dressage is the heart and soul of the Andulusian breed, while driving proves to be one of the most popular disciplines for a number of other Iberian breeds.

Cultural Event
Have you ever heard of the Doma Vaquera? Well you're about to with our new Doma Vaquera clinic! Much like Dressage, Doma Vaquera is an ancient form of horse training that is unique to the Iberian Peninsula where horse and rider must be in perfect harmony as they preform a series of special required and freestyle moves before a panel of judges.

We will be posting our very own Doma Vaquera clinic at the start of our tour, where your horse can earn his or her certificate as one of the most talented and versatile horses on SS.

Adoptions
It wouldn't be Iberia without Iberian breeds! PSLs and PREs are the main fare of choice here on the peninsula, but you'll also find a number of other breeds such as Andulusians, Alter Real, Sorriaias and Menorquins. You may also find a Hispano-Arab or two mixed in with all the heavier breeds, so keep your eyes out!
